Type Ia supernovae (SNe) have been used to discover the accelerated expansion of the universe, which led to the award of Nobel Prize.  However, the explosion mechanism of Type Ia SNe is still debated - is it cause by a white dwarf having accreted too much mass from a normal star companion? or is it caused by the merger of two white dwarfs?  The former mechanism can be affirmed if a surviving companion is found.  I will report our search for surviving companions in 5 young Type Ia supernova remnants in the Large Magellanic Cloud and our search for Type Ia supernova remnants in M33. These research projects were made in Taiwan after I came back in 2014.
