All-optical formation of spinor BEC for quantum simulation
Meeting Room, 2F, QFort, NCKU
Abstract:
Quantum simulation is one of the hottest topics in modern quantum technology. Aiming to solve the problems that are difficult to model with a supercomputer, quantum simulators play an important role in physics, astrophysics, chemistry, and material science. In today’s talk, I will share my work on the all-optical formation of the ultra-cold quantum gas, and talk about its future application in quantum simulation. In our case, we produced $10^5$ of rubidium-87 Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) and were capable to control the three spinor states of Rb atoms. Taking these advantages, we are able to study the problems like the phase diagram of spin states, and the eigenstate thermalization hypothesis (ETH).
